Families invited to The Hub’s June Bug Festival

Summer is here, and that means a line-up of fun family friendly events. The Hub Family Resource Centre’s June Bug Festival is a premiere family fun event and crawling nearby.

The highly anticipated Festival is back – for two days this year – on June 25 and 26 at MacDonald Island curling rink from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 per child.

June Bug is The Hub’s largest annual fundraiser. Started 10 years ago, the festival is “intended to be an opportunity for families to enjoy quality time together and connect with their community. It is also an opportunity for families to learn what family resources are available in our community. The funds raised through the festival support The Hub Family Resource Centre to continue offering free programs year-round,” explains Samantha Simpson, Executive Director, The Hub Family Resource Centre. She has been with the group since September 2013.

There will be approximately 10 community agencies in attendance at June Bug such as the YMCA of Northern Alberta, Some Other Solutions and Waypoints. A community scavenger hunt, talent showcase, and family games will also be part of the festival.

“This is a great opportunity for our community to get out with their families, enjoy a fun festival and support the Hub!” added Simpson.
