Celebrating Seniors’ and Elders’ contributions to the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

A large portion of these impact-makers are the elders and seniors in our region, and so this year we are so excited to introduce the very first group of 60+ Impact Award winners.

Chosen by a selection committee comprised of community members, this year we are celebrating 14 individuals who are still with us, and two who have sadly passed away.

In this inaugural year of our 60+ Impact Awards program, we are so pleased to honour Elder Alice Martin, Elder Bernadette Dumais, Dave Hill, Gwen Leepart, Julien Giroux, June Catton, Lalita Mehta, Linda Mywaart, Marie Routhier, Elder Mary McKenzie, Norma Jean Atkinson, Pauline Gauthier, Terry Connors, Winsor Earle, Ramona Morrison, and Elder Theresa Tuccaro.

This year’s 60+ Impact Award winners were selected by a committee of community members who recognize the contributions of the elders and seniors in the Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo region.

2023’s selections took place earlier this year by the following committee members:
