Christmas with The Littles

The Christmas season is a time of joy and celebration, especially when you have a busy toddler to share it with. Patrick’s joy and wonder in any season are just too adorable.

I am excited to share how my family celebrates Christmas while remaining mindful of our budget and the environment.

At the core of our Christmas celebration is the birth of Jesus Christ. His coming to Earth is the ultimate reason for our joy this season. With that in mind, we strive to focus on activities that help us remember this truth and incorporate it into our celebrations. We have chosen to do this by prioritizing our budget on activities that include giving and making lasting memories together. We have found that quality time spent together as a family is far more valuable than any material possessions we could purchase.

This year, we plan to attend Joy Unspeakable Joy at Keyano Theater, which we are excited about. We plan to give back to our community by donating to the local food bank. We believe that this is a great way to spread joy during the holiday season and help those in need. We hope our small contribution will make a difference in someone’s life and inspire others to do the same. I am consciously trying to incorporate sustainable practices into our Christmas celebrations.

Instead of buying Patrick all new toys, I have opted for quality second-hand toys that are still in excellent condition. I have found that this saves money and reduces our environmental impact. We have also decided to try our hand at family recipes this year, which has been a wonderful way to bond and create new traditions.

It can be easy to get lost in the season’s commercialism and feel pressured to buy more than we need. However, we have found that focusing on the true meaning of Christmas helps us stay grounded and avoid falling into this trap.

I am grateful for the opportunity to celebrate this season with my son and create lasting memories together as a family. Celebrating Christmas with a toddler is a joyous experience. By prioritizing our budget on activities that incorporate giving and making lasting memories together, incorporating sustainable practices, and focusing on the birth of Jesus Christ, we can celebrate this season meaningfully, bringing us joy and peace.

This Christmas, let us all remember the true reason for our celebration and spread joy and love to those around us.
