It’s the most wonderful time of the year once again! I can’t believe how quickly this year has flown by, but I am so excited to get ready for the holiday season as it is my son’s very first Christmas!
This is the time of year to slow down and spend time with those nearest and dearest to us. The beautiful decorations, delicious treats, and joyful feelings just make it all the more special.
The team at Your McMurray Magazine is very for the 2023 Holiday Guide, and we are so thankful to our presenting partner Hines Health Services for helping to make it possible.
Five years ago, Hines Health Services partnered with Country 93.3 and Balsom Communications to publish a Santas Anonymous Cookbook, with all proceeds benefitting Santas Anonymous. For this year’s Holiday Guide, we’ve gone through the archives and pulled some of Kristi Hines’ favourite holiday recipes and family photos from that cookbook. Be sure to check out pages 41 through 45!
If you’re looking for a festive adult beverage, be sure to check out Cocktails by Boots’ recipe for a cocktail called Christmas in Mexico. We guarantee it’ll transport your tastebuds to a tropical location, despite whatever cold weather we may be experiencing!
Be sure to check out our Shop Local Gift Guide; it’ll help inspire you as you search for that perfect gift! And if you’re looking for the perfect book to curl up with during these winter nights, flip to page 28 where the Wood Buffalo Regional Library has put together a list of books that celebrate all of the holidays happening in December. Fun fact: You can check the availability of each book by clicking on the box below each cover!
On page 25, Mike Jones shares his letter to Santa. Be sure to have a look and see if there’s anything you would add or subtract from his Fort McMurray Wish List. (He had me at HomeSense.)
However you celebrate this holiday season, my hope for you is that you will be filled with peace and love. Embrace the spirit of the season, and draw close to those that mean the most to you.
On behalf of the team at Balsom, publisher of Your McMurray Magazine, we wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season!
